Considered a “rice granary" of the central region with nearly 25,000 ha of farming area, Phu Yen's rice output has not developed adequately. To create a new direction for the rice industry, help farmers reduce input costs and increase profitability and build the Phu Yen rice brand, Phu Yen province has invited capable and experienced businesses to join, and the investment proposal of Trung An High-tech Farming Joint Stock Company - a leading rice exporter in Vietnam - was highly appreciated by the provincial government.
At the Conference on Phu Yen Provincial Planning Announcement and Investment Promotion 2024, themed “Phu Yen - Aspiration for development,” provincial leaders approved the investment project of Phu Yen high-quality rice production, purchase, processing and export, and the memorandum of understanding on investment in Phu Yen waste-to-power treatment plant of Trung An Company. With the available potential of Phu Yen province as well as its own cooperation experience, Trung An Company is working to speed up their projects to build a developed Phu Yen.
Trung An Hi-Tech Farming Joint Stock Company coordinates to organize a discussion on solutions for enhancing rice exports
Mr. Pham Thai Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trung An Company, said: On November 27, 2023, the Prime Minister signed Decision 1490/QD-TTg ratifying the “Sustainable development of one million hectares of high quality and low-emission rice associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030” program. Carrying out this program, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and several provinces and cities nominated Trung An Company as a pioneer to fulfill 100,000 hectares. In January 2024, witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee of Kien Giang handed a certificate to allow the company to carry out 50,000 hectares. Immediately after that, An Giang province also asked Trung An Company to undertake 20,000 hectares. Regarding the remaining 30,000 hectare, Soc Trang, Can Tho and Dong Thap all required Trung An Company to give priority to building high-quality and low-emission rice areas in their localities.
Phu Yen Construction and Design Consulting Joint Stock Company has already completed the site planning for the agricultural project. After completing necessary procedures, Trung An Company will build and install infrastructure items for this project in 2024. The company is also working with the Department of Planning and Investment to quickly fulfill documents to submit them to the Provincial People's Committee for final decision on the waste-to-power project to install equipment and operate it in the second quarter of 2025.
Chairman Binh affirmed that Trung An will invest strongly in Phu Yen province in 2024, thus helping ensure food security and build eco-friendly Dong Cam rice brand to enable strong tourism development in the province. Trung An Company believes in a sustainable vision in the rice granary of the central region where Frenchmen anticipated the global influence of Phu Yen more than 90 years ago.
