Sa Pa is leading Lao Cai province in certified OCOP products assigned 3-star or higher standards.
According to Lao Cai Rural Development Office, after more than three years of implementation, Sa Pa is leading the province in OCOP products certified with 3-star or higher standards, including eight 4-star items in six industries: Food; drinks; herbal medicine; textile and garment; souvenir - interior - decoration; and community tourism services and attractions.
These products bear local characteristics and traditions, partly affirming local brands in the market and widely consumed throughout the country such as herbal products made by Traphaco Sa Pa Co., Ltd; fabrics and apparels made by Lan Rung Trading Co., Ltd., chayote grown by Hoa Dao Cooperative, and salmon products by Thuc Mai Salmon Farm.
According to the 2021-2025 period plan, Sa Pa town will standardize at least 25 existing local strong products, focus on upgrading products from 3-star or 4-star products; create at least five new products, and have at least five economic organizations joining the OCOP Program.
