Despite being a "young" city, Tu Son has much potential to make more breakthroughs to become a second-grade city and help to drive Bac Ninh to be a centrally governed city by 2025.

Successful planning

Mr. Hoang Ba Huy, Chairman of Tu Son City People's Committee, said 2021 was an eventful year amid the fourth outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, under the direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front, provincial agencies, branches and mass organizations in the province, especially the solidarity, unity and resolution of the City's Party, government, people and business community, Tu Son successfully performed the "dual tasks" of containing the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring socioeconomic growth.

Five remaining communes were upgraded to wards, including Huong Mac, Phu Chan, Phu Khe, Tam Son and Tuong Giang. Bac Ninh City and Tu Son City now have the highest urbanization rate in Bac Ninh province, reaching 100%. Tu Son Town was approved to become a provincial city by the National Assembly Standing Committee in Resolution 387/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated September 22, 2021. The city successfully hosted the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the term 2021-2026; celebrated the 100th birthday of National Assembly Chairman Le Quang Dao and announced the Resolution on recognition of Tu Son City under Bac Ninh province from November 1, 2021.

The city took care of people's health and social security; maintained national defense, security, social order and safety; and concentrated and resolutely handled land violations, hence strengthening public and business trust and consensus.

Breakout targets

Chairman Huy emphasized that 2022 is an important year for creating a stronger foundation for achieving the 5-year development goals in 2021-2025. Anticipating intertwined domestic and international advantages, opportunities and difficulties and challenges, and complicated COVID-19 pandemic development, including the Omicron variant, Tu Son City will make full use of new potential and opportunities, urgently deal with difficulties and challenges caused by economic competition, the pandemic and natural disasters.
