Striving to Enhance Public Image of Power Sector

For the past 32 years, Ninh Thuan Power Company (PC Ninh Thuan) has made remarkable strides in its development. It has not only served the daily lives and activities of the people but also emerged as a trailblazer in fostering sustainable socio-economic development for the Southern Central Coast region. Our reporter interviewed Mr. Nguyen Huu Tien, Deputy Director of PC Ninh Thuan on the significant contributions made by PC Ninh Thuan to local socioeconomic development.

Could you briefly introduce the outstanding achievements of PC Ninh Thuan in recent years?

In 2023, PC Ninh Thuan met all targets assigned by Southern Power Corporation and effectively implemented cost-saving measures, thereby promoting business growth, investment, and maintaining financial stability. Notably, its commercial electricity reached 880.38 million kWh, up 10.79% year on year and equal to 100.61% of the plan. The saved electricity output was 19.457 million kWh, equivalent to 2.21% of commercial electricity and 0.11% higher than the target. The average selling price of electricity was VND1,961.39 per kWh, or VND70.38 higher than that in 2022 and VND4.39 higher than the assigned plan. The rate of electricity used to offset power leakage was 2.16%, slightly lower than the assigned plan (2.20%). At the same time, the company completed all 29 investment projects on schedule and disbursed VND90.39 billion as planned. PC Ninh Thuan saved VND21.7 billion in the year, as expected.

At present, PC Ninh Thuan is producing, trading and distributing electricity of up to 110kV voltage to meet socioeconomic development needs in Ninh Thuan province. The company is managing and operating a power grid consisting of 198.29 km of 110kV lines and five 110kV transformer stations with a total capacity of 331 MVA and a distributed power grid with more than 1,102.5 km of medium voltage lines all over the province, including industrial zones and craft villages. With more than 1,232.15 km of low voltage lines and 1,766 transformer stations with a total capacity of over 275.9 MVA, the company supplies electricity to all 65 communes, wards and towns, with 100% of households having access to electricity. In particular, 100% of households in rural and mountainous areas also have access to electricity. In 2023, the company donated VND112 million to social security, responsibly cared for workers and fostered a strong corporate culture.

How has PC Ninh Thuan made a new step in customer care service?

In the past years, PC Ninh Thuan has actively improved the quality of insightful customer service. Hence, after 32 years of operation, the company is proud of not only effectively supplying electricity for socioeconomic development but also actively siding with Ninh Thuan province to improve the business environment and enhance the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). By implementing many solutions and promoting administrative reforms to improve the electricity access index, the company has addressed the need for the most convenient and fastest possible electricity supply.

Besides, we have raised the awareness of employees in customer communications. Customer scoring serves as the paramount metric for gauging customer satisfaction. This is also an important basis for the company to continue to reform and improve the quality of services according to customers’ needs.

How will the power supply for businesses and people be implemented by PC Ninh Thuan?

As hot weather continues in Ninh Thuan province, customers' electricity consumption will remain high. Therefore, PC Ninh Thuan will continue to implement many solutions to supply sufficient electricity for consumers. The company will continue to implement the Electricity Saving Program, agreed by 2,100 out of 7,358 customers, and the DR Load Adjustment Program, signed by 53 customers, and the Load Shifting Program, as directed by Southern Power Corporation, signed by 24 customers (with an individual electricity consumption of 1 million kWh a year). The company has strengthened communications on the power economy.

Of course, in all work, PC Ninh Thuan also needs the cooperation and contribution of every consumer to boost the safe and economical use of electricity. This will help customers significantly reduce electricity bills.
