The festival's grand opening will be organized at 8:00 PM on October 4 at Doan Mon Square, Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center, Hanoi. The choice of this historical location, steeped in the city’s past, underscores the blend of tradition and modernity at the heart of the event. Renowned Ao Dai designers from across Vietnam will participate, marking an opportunity to showcase Hanoi to the world as it continues its pursuit of being a "safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive" destination.

The festival's diverse lineup is designed to celebrate cultural values while encouraging innovation in Vietnam’s Ao Dai fashion industry. Events have been ongoing since early August, drawing widespread attention from locals and international visitors alike. This year’s theme also highlights the Ao Dai as a unique, culturally rich souvenir for international tourists visiting Vietnam.

The festival will also include design competitions and artistic events that invite young designers, fashion students, and Ao Dai enthusiasts to showcase their creativity. The Ao Dai Design Competition, launched in August, will hold its finals on October 6 at Doan Mon Square, providing a valuable platform for emerging talents to explore new ideas and innovate Ao Dai designs.

Additionally, the festival will host exhibitions of Ao Dai and accessories by renowned designers from across Vietnam. These exhibitions aim to promote products while offering designers opportunities to network and exchange ideas. Notably, foreign ambassadors' spouses in Vietnam will participate in the festival, modeling Ao Dai and creating a unique cultural exchange.

The festival will also serve as a showcase for Hanoi’s culinary heritage through the "Thang Long Quintessence" food festival, held from October 4 to 6. Visitors can sample both traditional and modern Hanoi dishes, adding to the festival’s cultural richness.

Other activities include traditional folk games, craft demonstrations, workshops on how to accessorize and pose in Ao Dai, and performances of traditional Vietnamese art forms like Ca Tru, Chau Van, Xam, and Cheo, enriching the festival’s cultural offerings.

The Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 is more than just a cultural showcase; it is a vital platform for promoting Hanoi’s tourism potential to local and international audiences. The event will facilitate partnerships between tourism businesses, fostering sustainable development. The festival also aims to support the post-pandemic recovery of Hanoi's tourism industry.

The closing ceremony on the evening of October 6 at Doan Mon Square will mark the end of this celebration of Ao Dai beauty, while also opening new opportunities for cultural and tourism connections. The festival will leave lasting impressions on visitors about Hanoi, a city where tradition and modernity converge in a rich cultural tapestry.
