This is affirmed by Mr. David Nardone, CEO of WHA Industrial Development PLC to Vietnam Business Forum ahead of the Meeting with Investors Conference 2019 held annually by Nghe An province. Duy Anh reports.
What do you think about the provincial investment environment? What should Nghe An do to improve its magnet to investors?
I think the local investment environment is really attractive. Firstly, the province has great investment incentives to woo investors. Secondly, the provincial government launches many cooperation programs in many fields at central and local levels. Thirdly, many investment-related factors have considerably improved, including infrastructure and logistics. Especially, Nghe An is well known for its abundant and well-trained labor force, with many people graduated from well-reputed colleges and universities.
We hope that Nghe An will invest more to improve logistics and transport infrastructure systems, especially the North - South Expressway that links Nghe An with Hai Phong Port, which plays an extremely important role. Secondly, we expect all investment procedures will be carried out under the single-window mechanism at the Dong Nam Economic Zone Authority, enabling procedures to settled and approved as soon as possible to save time for businesses.
Could you please introduce investment attraction in WHA Industrial Park?
We have had our environmental impact assessment report approved. This is the certification of the high standard environmental management system of WHA Industrial Park.
Secondly, the first-phase construction of WHA Industrial Park has been basically completed.
We also welcomed the first secondary investors from Thailand and Japan. We will have 6 - 10 more investors to locate their projects in WHA 1 Industrial Park - Nghe An in the next 3 - 6 months. The development of industrial park projects will continue to be carried out in parallel with the construction of industrial utilities such as water supply and wastewater treatment facilities.
