Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival Scheduled for March 8-13 in Dak Lak

The sixth Buon Ma Thuot coffee festival and the 2017 Central Highlands gong culture festival will take place in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak from March 8-13 with the theme “Converging quintessence - Promoting identity - Connecting for development”.

The information was heard at a press conference held in Hanoi on February 6 under the chair of Minister of Public Security Sen. Lieut. Gen. To Lam, head of the Steering Committee for the Central Highlands.

Accordingly, a number of activities are scheduled on the framework of the Buon Ma Thuot coffee festival, including a coffee expo, the fourth investment promotion conference for the Central Highlands region, a workshop on coffee, a street festival and an elephant racing festival.

Meanwhile, the gong culture festival will feature gong performances, reproduced traditional rituals of ethnic minority groups, a wood statue carving contest, an exhibition and award ceremony for the artistic photo contest entitled “Buon Ma Thuot coffee and Central Highlands gong culture space”, a thematic exhibition on the history of the Central Highlands coffee and the Central Highland food street.

Surrounding the organisation of the fourth investment promotion conference for the Central Highlands, Politburo member To Lam noted that the event would be a platform for the people, delegates, scientists and investors to contribute development directions for the Central Highlands.

Thematic conferences will also be held to discuss the development of rubber trees in the Central Highlands localities, he said.
