Thai Firm Plans US$30Mln Garment Material Plant in Ben Tre

Tong Siang, a company of Thailand, is planning to build a plant costing US$30 million in Mekong Delta Ben Tre province to produce textile and garment materials and accessories, state media says.
 
The project, to cover an area of 7.5 hectares of land, is expected to get an investment license in the third quarter of this year.
 
The construction of the plant is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2007, becoming the biggest foreign-invested project in the province to date.
 
By the end of July this year, Thailand had poured around $1.46 billion into 132 projects in Vietnam, mostly in the industries of agricultural products processing, cattle-feed, chemicals and printing.
